How to vote

You will not find his name on the ballot.

You write it in. It takes ten seconds, and it counts exactly the same as any printed name — as long as you spell both words.

The four steps

Choose “Write-in”
Scroll to District Attorney. The write-in option sits at the bottom of the candidate list.

Type ERIC REED
A keyboard appears on screen. Type both names — “Reed” alone may not be counted.

Press Accept
The screen returns to the ballot with your entry recorded.

Check the printed record
Read the paper slip before you cast. It should say Eric Reed.

!Spell both names. A misspelled write-in is not counted.

When and where to vote

Dallas County lets you vote at any early voting site in the county. On Election Day, go to your assigned precinct.

Any county site. Dallas County publishes locations and hours closer to the election.

Tue 3 Nov · polls close 7 p.m.

Your assigned precinct only. Look it up by address.

By mail

Write the name by hand

Open to voters who are 65 or older, sick or disabled, out of the county during the voting period, or confined in jail but otherwise eligible. Print ERIC REED clearly in the write-in line.
