What we collect, and what we do with it.
Last updated 17 August 2026.
Who we are
This site is published by Eric Reed for District Attorney, the campaign committee supporting Eric Reed’s write-in candidacy for Dallas County District Attorney. Campaign Treasurer, Mark Liethan. Questions about this policy go to manager@writeinreed.com.
What we collect
We collect only what you give us and what the site needs to work.
Information you submit. When you use a form on this site we collect the fields you complete — which may include your name, email address, mobile number, ZIP code, delivery address and your message. The reason-for-contact field tells us how to route your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. We use this to understand which pages voters find useful.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for and do not want your party registration, voting history, financial account details or government identification numbers. Do not send them.
How we use it
We use the information you give us to reply to you, to send campaign updates you asked for, to deliver a yard sign you requested, to coordinate volunteering, and to comply with Texas election law and any reporting obligations that apply to the campaign.
Email and text messages
If you give us your email address we may send you campaign updates. Every message carries an unsubscribe link and we act on it.
If you give us your mobile number you agree to receive campaign text messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them and HELP for help. SMS consent language TK — legal review
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade your information. We share it only with the vendors who run the campaign’s website, email, texting and donation tools, and only so they can perform those services for us, and where the law requires disclosure.
Contributions to the campaign are subject to Texas campaign finance reporting. Information about contributors that the law requires us to report becomes part of a public record. Donation platform and disclosure text TK
How long we keep it
We keep what you send us for as long as the campaign is active, and afterwards for as long as the law requires records to be retained. You can ask us to delete information that we are not required to keep.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from email at any time, stop text messages by replying STOP, and write to manager@writeinreed.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us, but no website can promise perfect security. Please do not send sensitive personal information through this site.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
